Known in Hawaiian as Ahu O Laka (the Altar of Laka, goddess of hula), the Kaneohe Sandbar is a natural formation unlike anything else in Hawaii.

At low tide, a white sand beach appears in the middle of the bay. At high tide, it transforms into a waist-deep turquoise playground. The Koʻolau Mountains tower behind you, and the water stays calm and warm year-round.
